Thrashers vs Toronto

Thrashers lose, imagine that. Yet again another screw up late in the game cost us. We did manage to take it to overtime but Toby took a penalty with like 8 seconds to go in the 3rd and it of course carried into over time. Moose has a crappy record with OT this year. In his defense, he faced an amazing 47 shots.

One bright spot, Bryan Little scored his 19th goal. Bryan Little has been our one ray of sunshine this year.
One heartstopping moment came for me when my Bobo (Boris Valabik) took a puck in the face and went down to the ice. It took him a bit to get up.

In other Thrashers news, our 3rd string goalie, Ondrej Pavelic, pulled a groin and was unable to play with the Chicago Wolves when they faced Manitoba. What's up with all the groin injuries??

Every Home Game This Year

As the season began this year I told my friend Shauna, I only wanted to try and miss like 10 games. The 2008-09 season started and we started going to games. Game after game came and went and I (and usually she) was there. I was getting close to seeing them all so I decided to try and see every 2008 game in the 2008-09 season. Woot woot, gotta have someting to get you through the night, right? Well I did it. Yes, I know, very excited. try and remain calm. I went to every home game for the Thrashers this season so far and 1 road trip. So, that is:
* 19 home games
* 1 road game (in Philly no less)
* 6 wins (sob)
* billions (okay hundreds) of dollars
* tons of fun!

Our opening game vs the Capitals. We had new players. We had a new coach. We had dumped some players. We had our first round draft pick, (#3 over all) Zack Bogosian. Ah we had such high hopes. We did win this game. Zack got into his first fight in his first game with Donald Brashear...hey, if you are going to do it, do it right! Thrashers win 7 -4

Our next game was against the Minnesota Wild. It's not often we get someone from the west in. Thrashers loose 4 - 2

Our third game was New Jersey and I was super excited about getting to see my man, Martin Brodeur. That's what the whole night was about for me. Under my Moose jersey I was wearing a Brodeur T shirt and I even had a sign for him. I'm so glad I got to see him before he was injured for the season. I was lucky enough to see him get his 97th shut out
Thrashers loose 1 - 0

The next game was the Buffalo Sabres and I was not looking forward to it. Buffalo Fans in our arena are the worst. That night we had a few arrests, several fights and one case of a guy spilling his beer on a kid and not appologizing. The guy behind us was making me miserable. Thank god he left during the second period. Thank GOD the Thrashers won.
Thrashers win 3 - 2 in a Shoot Out.

Next came the Philly Flyers. While I was super excited about seeing Marty Biron, I was not so excited about the game. The Flyers had beaten us something like 11 times in a row. Nitty is a Thrasher killer. This one of two games that made me physically ill and I felt like I got punched in the stomach. Vomit.
Thrashers get destroyed 7 - 0

The Next game was Florida. Had some picture requests from my friend Candace for photos of Zednick. I took 120 pictures...and they vanished off of the camera :(

Photo Fail.

The Islanders came to town on November 6. I was bummed I couldn't see DiPietro but was excited to see his back up, JoeyMac. I was also excited to see ex-Thrasher Andy Sutton again.
Thrashers win 4 - 3

Carolina comes to town...best game EVER! My Moose was in net. He had beaten them already that week at the RBC center. He was the #1 Star of the Game that night AND the guest at the Post Game Show. He saw the sign I made him and nodded and smiled. I got him to autograph my Manitoba Moose jersey and got my picture with me. Best Hockey Night EVER!

Thrashers win 3 - 2 (and our winning streak ended)

The Sidney Crosby show came into town on November 20th. I was super psyched to see Malking, Gill, Free Candy and the rest of the guys. I was bummed I didn’t see Fleury, but was happy to see Sabu.
Thrashers Lose 3 – 2

The Columbus “Who?” jackets came to town next and schooled our asses. Rick Nash isn’t nearly as hot when he’s beating your ass.
Thrashers Lose 2 – 0

My home team of the west, the Nashville Predators came to town on November 28th. I hate it when two teams I like play each others. Those freaking TooToo whistles aren’t NEARLY as cute when they are in your home arena.
Thrashers Lose 4 – 3 in OT

Of course the only reason I was excited for the St. Louis Blues to come to town on November 30 is to see Manny Legace. Mason played, so Legace didn't do much. He might as well have ordered chicken wings during warm ups. One cool thing about the game, we saw Keith Tkachuck score his 1000th point. Way to go ex-Thrasher.
Of course, Thrashers fall 4 - 2

Ewww yuck, Rangers come to town. We hate the Rangers here, they spanked us out of the playoffs. I DO love Lundqvist though….of course I do!
Thrashers Lose 3 – 2 in OT

Scary! The beast from the east, the Boston Bruins pulled in on December 12th. I was jacked up to see everyone’s favorite yoga-doing, bow-hunting goalie, Tim Thomas though. I was excited about Lucic as well, but knew this game was gonna hurt. This was the second game that felt like a punch in the face.
Thrashers get owned 7 – 3

Here come the Pens again! The big difference, MAF is back! I made him a “Welcome Back Flower” sign and he saw it and banged the glass at me. I was on cloud 9. Unfortunately, they beat our ass again.
Thrashers Lose 6 – 3

Tampa Bay, surely we can beat Tampa Bay! I wanted to go down and get pictures of that hot ass Ryan Malone, but thought I’d give my boys support instead during warm ups.
FINALLY Thrashers win 4 - 3

I looked forward to the Toronto game for weeks. There was so much fire, emotion and smack talking about the game. In their previous meeting, Ilya went nuts and fought twice. Colby had a MONSTER hit and even my Bobo was barking at someone. What a let-down. No energy, no emotion, no win. Welcome to the NHL baby rookie goalie Pogge. Here is your first win.
Thrashers Lose 6 – 2

Carolina again! Bring them on. Of course we are starting Moose. He has a great record, he’s played well, we can win this. No we can’t. My Moose had a crappy night. Bryan Little gets a hat trick, Slava assists on all four goals and we still can’t win. Vomit
Thrashers Lose 5 – 4

Boston…oh god, not again. We lost this game, but we stood toe-to-toe with them for a long time. That and a quarter will get you a Coke in my employee break room.
Thrashers Lose 2-1

And that's it this season for home games! We've sucked, but it's still been fun. I hope I can attend most of the games in 2009 as well. Go Thrashers!!

My first post

I wanted to make a blog for my hockey pictures so my photobucket account wouldn't be so bogged down.

I thought I would call it "Getting Pucks Deep" because that's what hockey players say in almost every interview ever done.
