Vancouver Canucks vs Atlanta Thrashers
Happy New Year!
It's a new year, dare we hope for a new outcome in 2009? It wasn't promising when the Vancouver Canucks came to town. Even though they are down their Captain/Star Goalie (one of my beloved favorites) Roberto Luongo, they've been chugging along this year. Fortunately for us, Mats Sundin had not yet started playing. The Sedins and Demetra are nothing to ignore though. Also, this was the second game for their new goalie, Labarbera.
Obligatory Moose shot. See the blue sign? She is my main Moose competition. She wears antlers to the game. Moose appreciates me NOT doing that. She's very nice and I send her pictures of her and her signs with Moose in the shot. Moose stands there every single time. Another bonus, I can check my Swedish. Around the holidays our signs usually say the same thing.
Our Little Big Man, Bryan Little. I made him a sign for the game. It said "You only need a Little." He's been tearing it up this year. One of our few bright spots.
*Swoon* Boris Valabik has become my favorite non-goalie player. He's 6'7". How can you not love that? He's still young and I look forward to watching him develop...AS A PLAYER! (or not) His skating is a bit slow but he's really starting to pick it up and make some plays.
Oh Bobo, of course I'll meet you later.
I wanted to stay on the Thrashers end with my signs, but I wanted pics of the Nucks, too. You can't have it all. Sometimes though, you can. I sent DH down to the Vancouver side to get pics. He did a pretty good job.
Welcome to Blue Land Mr. LaBarbera. I must have cursed you at LEAST 30 times in that game. He was stellar. Good luck with the Nucks!
Henrik Sedin and I THINK Edler.
Awwww, a baby moose! Schneider warms up.
More warm ups.
LaBarabera does a lot of cools stretches including this back bend kinda thing.
He's a messy drinker, too.
Crusher looking terrified. He's a really nice guy,he's been on the show before. My friend's husband found out that Erik liked the same kind of music he did and gave him a cd from a local band. He asked him about it last night and they chatted about music. How adorable.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better....I won a watch! A $185 Bulova Thrashers watch. They give away a man's Bulova The Fan680 watch every post game show. I won one for my husband about 6 weeks ago. It's worth $250, but it says "The Fan680" and not the Thrashers. Well they started giving a way a woman's Thrashers watch so I started entering again. I won. Woo Hoo! I love it!
