Final Game of the Road Trip...Boston vs Philadelphia

Where could we be???

We have Cheesesteaks

and the Liberty Bell

We must be in Philly! It's an historic city where lots of important people did lots of cool stuff for our country, but we were there to see the Philadelphia Flyers take on the Boston Bruins.

We drove from Newark to Jersey the day of the game. We left early to make sure we had some sight seeing time and most importantly, time to try a real Philly cheesesteak. We of course went to the legendeary corner where Pat's and Geno's are. We wanted to see which one was best so we bought a cheesesteak from each place, tore it in half and decided which one we liked best.

First up was Geno's.

I confidently ordered a "Wiz wit" which is a cheesesteak with onions and cheese whiz (don't even think of turning up your nose at the whiz. It's amazing)

Next was Pat's. I had Shauna snag a table and sit with our drinks while I ordered another wiz wit.

Ummmmmm

Who won? By a slim margin, Geno's. The bread was much better. The meat and oninons were better, too. Had there been more cheese on top of the sandwhich, Geno's would have won hands down. Next time I'm getting a Geno's with extra whiz!

Now that we were full, we headed down to the Wachovia Center, home of the NHL's most intimidating fans.

We were so jacked up about seeing Marty Biron we couldn't stand it. As Atlanta fans we will NEVER see Biron play as Nitty has a ridiculous Thrasher killing streak that is like 13 or 14 games long. We knew the only way we'd see Marty play was to go on the road. So we wait for warm ups and the Flyers come out....Nitty comes out first. DAMN IT! Apparently he has some small streak against the Bruins, too. GREAT!

Oh well, at least we got to see Marty in warm ups.

Marty has the most beautiful eyes. They look like they could steal the soul right out of your heart...or blow the pants right off of most women's bodies.

He kept looking for Shauna's soul...but couldn't find it.

More warm ups. We didn't see him play, but we did get to see him be rewarded for getting his 25th Career Shut Out. Way to go Marty!

Time for some action!!! I'm sure Shauna told me where the seats were. It just didn't sink in. We were THREE rows off of the glass to the left of the net. These were the best seats I've ever sat in. AMAZING! We wanted a picture of us in the seats but we both looked a hot mess in this pic. It shows where we sat though.

I like the Flyers and wanted to be part of "the home town," but if I were watching this game at home, I'd be pulling for Boston. I didn't take pictures of Boston during warm ups because I'd taken good pics when they came to Atlanta and I wanted Biron pics. I'm glad I didn't because I had an amazing view of the Bruins and all the action.

SWOON! OMG I was freaking out. Tim Thomas was so close. He's getting read to start the game after the National Anthem.
