Congratulations Ondrej Pavelec!!

The Czech Republic has won the IIHF World Championship upsetting tournament favorites Russia! Riding the bench on that team, The Thrashers own Ondrej Pavelec!



Pavs spent most of the tournament backing up Tomas Vokoun, but he did play in one game against Norway. Congratulations on your gold medal, Pavs!





Also worthy of congratulations is the Thrashers Max Afinogenov. Max represented Mother Russia well. He played in all 9 games of the tournament finishing with a plus/minus of +7. He had 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists. Congrats on the silver medal Max!
