First Eliminations Possible Tonight
Tonight two teams face possible elimination from the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
First up, heart breakingly, is the New Jersey Devils. I'm a relative newb to hockey. I've been a hockey nut for almost 4 years, followed the Thrashers for about 6 now. I've been a Devils fan for about three years now. Since I'm a Devils newb, I know only playoff sadness. If they are eliminated tonight, this will be the third season in a row that the Devils are eliminated in the first round. Since when did the Devils become the San Jose Sharks of the east?? Come on guys. Think, assuming they will not be able to re-sign Ilya (and that's not exactly a stretch of the imagination) and get knocked out tonight, that means they let Johnny Oduya and Niclas Bergfors go for yet another first round flop out.
The other team with their head on the chopping block is the Ottawa Senators. The Pittsburgh Penguins are ahead of them in the series 3 to 1. They made a goalie change and it looks like Pascal Leclaire (below) will be appearing in net for them to try and get some new energy.
Thoughts? Who are you pulling for?
