Thrashers Yearbook: Ondrej Pavelec

When I was looking though my pictures for other posts I realized I had a lot of good pics of Pavs! So he was perfect for the next edition of Thrashers Yearbook, a feature where I share pictures of players who has already had a Focus done on them.

Pavs was ROCKING IT at Casino Night. Most of the guys looked like an icecream man, Pavs looked like James Bond. He smelled really nice too.

Pavs in his Saab. My fondest memory of his car is when I was parking my car between his Saab and Hainsey's hummer at training camp and almost ran over one of the prospects.

Thrashers Year Book: Toby Enstrom

Today I've rounded up my favorite pics of the season for Atlanta's best little Dman, Toby Enstrom. The one thing I've realized...I need to take more pics of Toby during warm ups! Last season I got a ton of good warm up pictures of Toby. I usually stood behind the net, to the left. This season I moved to the right hand so I could get good pictures of Moose.



I've discovered Toby only stands in front of the bench, or on the wall by the bench.

Thrashers Yearbook:Zack Bogosian

Welcome to this edition of Thrashers Yearbook here at Ghetto Pucks Deep. I'm still working on the picture issue, so I went through the blog and pulled off my favorite pictures of Zach from this past season. Enjoy!

One of my best memories of Casino Night was Zach and Colby's fascination with my camera case. And of course then I almost clocked Zack in the nuts with it. Thank God I didn't.

Thrashers Year Book: Ilya Kovalchuk

Thursdays are for "Thrashers' Yearbook" photos. I have tons of pictures from the guys that have already had a "Focus on a Thrasher" done about them, so I still have an excuse to use the pics. This week I decided to Ilya Kovalchuk. Technically he doesn't qualify as he did NOT finish the season as a Thrasher, but I decided to break my own rule for a few reasons. I have some good pictures of him and I didn't know where else to stick him. He was the face of our franchise for 8 years. Plus, I hear he has a little something going on these days.


Atlanta Thrashers fans were put through the ringer this season awaiting the signing of our big star. Ilya swore he wanted to be a Thrasher, but turned down an obscene amount of money to stay with the team. We traded him to the New Jersey Devils.



Some fans hated him.



Some did not. I didn't give a shit, I had Johnny Oduya. Fans that really knew the game and knew what was going on were glad we hadn't over paid for Kovy.



The season didn't start like that though. Kovy was much beloved.



His section at the Fan Face Off was chaos.



Even at Casino Night, everyone was buzzing and hoped there would be an announcement about him signing.

Kovy is probably feeling a little guilty here as they get Vokoun on the stretcher. It WAS his goal that send Ballard into a tail spin during which he smashed his stick on the goalie post...and the goalie.



Many thought Kovy WAS our team, then we traded him.

The Thrashers survived life after Kovy and I think this season will be even better! Good luck to Kovy, where ever you may end up.
