Montreal vs Atlanta...my favorite game this year!

Montreal is coming to town. Cool, whatever. I'm happy to go to any game. I've sat through some really crappy games, it can't be much worse than that first Philly game. Plus, I'm excited to see Carey Price. I wasn't very interested in him at first. He's religious, likes country music and Tiger Woods (whom I despise). Then I saw him. He's such a cute little baby. Then he started struggling. I can't resist a baby goalie in need!! So I was jacked up to go take pictures of him.


Shauna got us tickets from ebay. Section 114, Row E, Seats 10 & 11. I had no idea how good those seats were going to be!


Warm ups



I was just going to take some pictures of Price and head over to the Thrashers side. There were so many Habs fans there, I couldn't leave, I was trapped at the glass!



Tonight was supposed to be the night were a bunch of fans had a big showing of their displeasure with the Thrashers Ownership, The Atlanta Spirit. At the last minute, the Spirit planned a town hall meeting with Don Wadell, our GM so I think many of them were at the town hall meeting instead of at warm ups.



We did have 2 protesters.

This was our first look at Mathieu Scheider since he left the Thrashers. I'm sure Bogo has missed him.

Moose: Being a back up goalie for Atlanta sucks, I usually see 35+ shots. Our defense hangs me out to dry.

Halak: Being a back up goalie for Montreal sucks more. I could see 45 shots and if I let one in, the fans still call for my blood to run in the streets.

Moose: You got me on that one.

Halak: Isn't that girl taking pictures of us wearing your jersey?

Moose: Shut up

Halak: She seems a little nuts.

Moose: She is. She's cool though. She makes bitching signs for me. Besides, her seats are usually far away. She doesn't sit close enough to freak me out.

Halak: I heard she was sitting behind the players bench tonight.

Moose: Shit.

Halak: Watch yourself tonight.

While I was waiting for the Habs to come out, I struck up a conversation with an older gentleman. He asked me if I had a favorite Thrasher, I said Moose. He said Moose was a nice kid. We talked some about him. I asked him if he had a favorite player. It turns out he is Glen Metropolit's father-in-law. We chatted. I asked if that mean his daughter had to move up to Montreal from Philly and he said they weren't sure what they were gonna do. Metropolit and his wife have 3 young children. Metropolit's mother-in-law was going up to help the daughter out while he was getting acclimated to Montreal. We agreed that was a tough crowd to play for. He said that Glen was excited though. He'd spent all of his career in American teams and this was his first time playing for a Canadian team. Glen said he wouldn't want to play for his hometown of Toronto though, too much pressure. When the Habs came out, every time Glen would pass by us, he'd bang the glass.

Good luck in Montreal, Glen! I hope you and your family are very happy. I always have a soft spot for ex-Thrashers.

So after the warm ups, I make my way to my seats. I knew we were sitting in the row behind the player's bench, but I guess that didn't register. As I got closer and closer to the glass, I was like HOLY SHIT! I checked my ticket like a dozen times to make sure I was in the right spot. I was 5 rows from the glass in the seat bordering the players' tunnel and about 3 rows behind players.

*MELT DOWN OF EXCITEMENT*

The most amazing thing about these seats was that there was this small window where I was watching hockey close up with no glass. Unbelievable. I've been up high enough to be looking OVER the glass, but watching hockey that close the ice with no glass was amazing.

Thrashers win 2-0 after the empty net! Kari gets a shut out and is the #1 star of the game. We couldn't even hear him because we were all chanting KARI!!!

We were waiting by the post show table and I turned around and saw Boultsie strut in. No handlers or anything. Then again he IS Eric Boulton.
