Thrashers vs Islanders

So me and like 30 other fans show up to see the Thrashers vs the Islanders. Good thing we showed up because not many Thrashers did. Slow game, bad effort, bad night.

Warm Ups!

I've been excited about seeing the NHL's latest Wunderkind, John Tavares. Taken by the Islanders as the #1 overall pick, this young man had a lot to live up to. He's done well and has helped put the Islanders back on the right path.



Let's no joke though. There is ONE big reason I'm on the Islanders side for warm-ups.





Oh yeah, everyone's favorite chatty, pale-eyed French Canadian, Martin Biron





Did you hear that? My underwear just blew off.





I have to say I'm not in love with his mask on the Island. Kind of plain. I miss the lumberjack.





As beautiful as I think Marty's eyes are, I do have to say he looks rather zombie-ish here. "Brains....." I think he was concentrating on trying to get a kid a puck.





Marty loves to chat with old friends! Here he is catching up with his old Buffalo buddy, Eric Boulton.





I love Marty, but I was excited to see Rollie, too. In fact, I'd have to say these guys were probably #2 or #3 on my list of goalie tandems I was excited to see.





The older I get, the more I love the older guys. I see less and less guys my age still playing. Dwayne still has a few years on me, but it's close.





Did you hear that? That wailing and gnashing of teeth you hear is from Edmonton. Khabi is good, but he does have a habit of getting hurt. Dwayne "Rollie" Roloson has been turning in solid performances on the Island. I think it was a mistake for Edmonton to not resign Rollie, but hey, what do I know? Either way, Rollie is still showing that he has some VERY good mileage left on him.

Simmer! Fans still talk about missing Jon Sim. He was in a good mood and seemed to be enjoying the music. He was bopping around and kind of dancing.

Anyone that knows me knows that Trent Hunter is "my kind of guy." Can't resist the shaved head and a goatee. If he has a tattoo..look out! Just ask my husband :)

Thanks to a goal from Slava, the Thrashers went into the 2nd period up 1-0. Unfortunately the good times stopped there and I was completely uninspired to take pics. I took more pics of Michelle on the zamboni than I did the 2nd and third period.

Yeah, that's it for the 2nd period. Blah. 2 goals from Moulson put a bad taste in the mouth of Blueland and we went into the third period down 2-1.

Booooooo Thrashers lose 4-1. That damn Moulson had a hat trick and then there was an empty net goal. Tragedy in Blueland.

Next home game isn't until December 12 against the Montreal Canadiens. Go Thrashers!!!
