An Avalanche of FAIL: Atlanta vs Colorado
The Avalanche rolled into town on Friday (Dec 10). I wanted to make Chris Stewart a sign thanking him for the points that he had scored for my fantasy team, but he is out with a broken hand. Pavelec has been playing out of his mind, so I made him a sign instead. Thanks to Michelle for the picture.
Here is a close up of my "Ondrej the Giant" sign.
Bryan Little stretching it out.
Slater clearing pucks out of the net. Looks like Slater has a shiner.
Oh Captain my captain!
Y so serious?
Pavelec's Dogs...okay. I don't get this. They have pug masks on. Anyone know them? I want to get it. I love a game gimmick.
Guys hanging around the bench.
Thor looks annoyed. He must be tired of me not making awesome signs for him.
Mason and Anderson were chatty Cathys.
Pavelec is smiling...because he likes the sign of course!
Facing some shots.
Nik getting ready to swarm the goalie.
Zach waiting for Swarm the Goalie.
Swarm the goalie!
Randy and I decided to go up to the 300s. It's fun sometimes to get a different view of the game. It's nice to get away from some of the bullshit in the lower bowl, too. I didn't get too many pictures, but I had a blast.
Get it, Pavs!
Booooooo. Avs score.
Pevs waiting in front of the net.
DOH! The Captain misses.
AGH! Why couldn't that be on the INSIDE of the net.
They have douchebags in the nosebleed, too. What is funny is that he's looking at facebook. Really?
My whole goal of the night was to get a shot of Craig Anderson eyeballing one of our icegirls. This is about all I got.
Boooo! Thrashers lose 4-2.

Great, as always. Hey, I noticed you were trying to get one of Anderson looking at a blue crew girl. He liked the blonde, a lot. I got one, quite by accident, up close, of him staring one of them down, and, she's not returning the favor, lol. You are welcome to use it, if you like.
Looking forward to Thursday nite...
Pavelec's Dogs is a play on Pavlov's dog:
http://psychology.about.com/od/classicalconditioning/a/pavlovs-dogs.htm#
In short, Pavlov discovered that his dogs would associate him ringing a bell with getting to eat, so they would begin salivating at the sound of the bell.
Nothing hockey related, just that Pavelec sounds like Pavlov. And men just love to be each others "dogs."
THANK YOU! That totally makes sense. I know Pavlov's dog...just didn't make the connection lol.
Me and my buddy are Pavelec's Dogs, we were worried that it may be a little obscure. We plan on trying to do it every game. Hopefully, it will catch on...we'll see...
I think Mason was chatting it up with Budaj during warm-ups, Anderson wears TPS pads, Budaj is in the cool NikeBauers.
Kudos anonymous for your goalie equipment knowledge! I think you are 1oo% correct. I could see the "1" of the goalies' number and assumed it was Anderson. I went and looked at a friend's pictures and in one of them you can just see the 3 on Budaj. Nice catch!
Jamie, thanks for stopping by! I'm all about people getting excited for hockey games and wearing costumes or gimmicks. Reminds me of the old days of Pasi's Posse. I confess, Psych 101 college course was a long time ago and I didn't get it at first. As soon as SMO Cat said "Pavlov" I was like...OH!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you guys need to salivate more :P
Nik has the best hair on the team. Bar none!!
