ECHL Hockey! Gwinnett Gladiators vs Greenville Road Warriors
After being super pissed off about driving to Duluth to have no practice, we decided to do a bit of shopping, then head to the Gladiators game.
Unfortunately I got a bit caught up shoe shopping and did something I haven't done in 3 seasons...missed warm ups!! (Well that Caps game wasn't my fault, I was AT the arena, just trapped in the town hall) This time I just completely didn't think about what time I needed to be at the arena for warm ups...I was too busy in the Crocs store! Yes they are ugly, I don't give a shit what you think about my shoes.
So, no warm up pics. The roster for the Glads is almost completely new to me. My beloved Chad Denny is gone. That hot ass goalie, Dave Brown is gone. Still on the bench though is our buddy, Mike Forney. Danick Paquette is with the Glads this season, I was surprised he was there he had a strong training camp with the Thrashers. The main reason I was excited about going to see the Glads was watching goalie Chris Carrozzi play. I've been watching Chris in training and prospect camp for the past 3 seasons. I followed his success in the OHL last season. I was glad to see him play in person!
Chris tracking the puck.
On the other end of the ice we have Dov Grumet- Morris, who must have been channeling Marty Brodeur that night. He's no Brodeur, but this week's ECHL Goalie of the week DID make 35 saves.
Paquette doing what he is good at. Unfortunately taking bad penalties is another of his talents and probably one of the reasons he's not in Chicago.
Carrozzi has the most amazing splits, he has great flexibility. He made that save, but unfortunately, several did go in.
Tim Miller tries to get something to the net.
On what planet is it acceptable that the ECHL mascot has better toys that the NHL's Thrash??
Chris making a pad save.
Some discussions behind the net.
Before tonight's massacre, Carrozzi had one of the best SV% and GAA in the league. He'll bounce back!
Out of the net, Forney!
Grumet-Morris peaking between the traffic.
Glads lose, 5-1. Despite a 3 game slide, the Gladiators are still the third overall best in the league, with 28 points in 23 games. If you haven't been to a Gladiators game, you are missing out! The games are cheap, a ton of fun and best of all...FREE PARKING!

Now this looks like fun! I see now why you wanted to see Corozzi too! How was the "Singing for Santa"?
