Boris Valabik Re-signed
Happy Happy Joy Joy! Break out the champagne, my Bobo signed a multi-year contract with (of course) undisclosed terms.
Boris has his problems and critics. He's slow, often out of position, didn't clear the net very well and couldn't step on the ice without drawing a penalty. I have faith in Boris though. He's a baby, he's only 23. I'm glad the Thrashers are willing to put some time into him. With his size and disposition, I think he will be a nasty character on the ice. Plus, after the refs work with him a few seasons, I am hoping the penalties even out. Right now it seems like they see him and think "Damn that bastard is big, he must be doing something wrong." Now if we can just get him into Chara's "Skating School for Big Boys!"

Gee, ya think?
On a good team, you can tolerate Valabik's shortcomings, but on the Thrashers...
I have faith! Boris won't let me down. Of course there IS such a thing as blind faith ;)
This is the best day of my life. I love Boris and the thrashers without him would be sad. I'm so glad he's coming back for awhile.
Me, too Brittany. I still think Boris is going to shine. Look at Chara. It took several years and a few trades before he became the super star defenseman he is today. Boris is still really young. I think because he's so big we forget. I"m really hoping he draws less penalties. Last season was so frustrating. I think the refs gave him a penalty as soon as he got on the ice. I think that might have put a damper on some of his nastiness, he knew he'd draw a penalty. We shall see!
Woo Hoo!!! Can't wait to see him for myself :-) Congrats, Bobo!!!
