Congratulations to Team USA!!
Team USA won the gold medal in 2010 IIHF World U20 Championship. Originally predicted to come in 4th (with NO medal) Team USA took the gold in an over time battle with Canada. Canada was looking for their sixth World Junior gold medal in a row, but late in the third period were down 2 goals. With less than three minutes left in the third period, Jordan Eberle (Oilers property) banged in a goal (on a complete bullshit penalty). With a little over a minute, he went on to tie it. The place went nuts.
Fortunately at 4:21 in OT John Carlson (Washington Property) scored and the gold came to the US. Watching them raise the American flag and play the Star Spangled Banner made forget about the turd the Thrashers laid on the ice in Pittsburgh. Well done, boys!
Special congratulations go out to our 2009 draft pick and Team USA member, Jeremy Morin!
Also, congratulations to Team Sweden for winning the bronze medal. They had a hell of a team, one which included my beloved Klingy!
The Thrashers have a prospect with a gold medal and one with a bronze medal. Not too shabby!! Well done!

YAY! It was nice to have something hockey related to be happy about tonight.
Yes, it WAS really nice to have something to be happy about last night in Blueland because this horrific road trip certainly gave no happiness.
