Kari Lehtonen Headed To Chicago For Conditioning
Almost didn't go to practice this morning, so glad I did! I got some picture of Kari practicing and apparently it will be the last pics for a while because he is headed to Chicago for a conditioning stint. That's super good news!
This morning Kari was practicing with the team and taking shots.
He looked good in net, still a little slow. There is only so much you can do in practice. When he gets to Chicago I'm sure the rust will fall right off.
Kari is excited about going to his old home in Chicago:
It’s been a long time since I last played so I’m very excited. Hopefully everything is going to go well. It’s going to be tough but it’s the only way to get back at it. Otherwise it’s great to be able to go see all of the great friends I have in the organization. It’s going to be fun to go back also.
Thorburn: Dear God, please let me open my eyes and see that Kari has realized he has mask-head and will have fixed his hair. Thank you. Amen.
Thorburn: Damn, it's worse.
So with Kari heading back that means that he will be back with the Thrashers soon. What does that mean for Pavs? We will have a bit of a crowded crease. We will have to wait and see.
Good luck in Chicago, Karpa!
Here is the Kari story from the Blueland Blog:

Steve Weeks was at practice, so I guess everything is okay with injury from the other day.

This made my day.
Could you tell is the mood was somber after our beating last night? I'd imagine they're feeling that sting.
You know Beth that is one reason I really wanted to go, to see how practice would be. The best word I can use to describe it is "meh." Spirits certainly weren't good. There were no big celebrations when someone scored, not a lot of yacking and jawing, even from Hainsey. But it also was not the hard working punishment type thing I expected. There was no skating till you dropped or yelling angry coaches. Just kind of nothing.
