A Behemoth Descends Upon Atlanta
Today was the first day fans got to see the Artyukinasaurus Rex, Evgeny Artyukin. Wow he's a big boy. At 6'5'' and 250lbs, you can't miss him on the ice.
They had him on a line with Peverley and Max. I knew he was fast, but wow. He could totally keep up with Max. You aren't expecting speed from something that large.
My husband pointed out that he wasn't much of a finisher, but if he's that large and that fast, if he can get the puck to Pevs or Max...look out! I'm hoping to see his large ass in front of the net! I'd love to see him be our version of Dustin Byfuglien (Chicago) or Tomas Holmstrom (Detroit)
Also at practice were both Colby Armstrong and Slava Kozlov, both of whom were said to be on the "trading block." Slava asked to be moved, but as of the close of the deadline, no one was interested. Looks like Slava will stay here for at least a little while.
Another epic win at practice...I got my Oduya jersey signed...Oh did I???

I absolutely love Kozlov. I will be sad if/when he leaves. For now, we get to keep that cutie pie (yes, I know he is 15 years older than me, but still precious)
i have a friend who knows him away from hockey, slava is one of his customers when i told him that slava would probably leave atlanta he texted him and asked him what was going on slava texted him back "they are being dicks and they are horrible owners, blah blah blah " thats not a direct quote but close. i like him too and will be sad when he leaves, our shoot out will too.
I respect Slava a lot and like him as well. While I'm glad we get to keep seeing him, I'm sad they couldn't find a deal that would make him happy.
I'm so torn about Slava. I want him here with the Thrashers because he's my favorite player and they're my favorite team, but if he keeps getting scratched what's the point? It's not fair to him that they keep scratching him. Send him to Nashville; I'll roadtrip! ;)
I've been hearing some grumbles that he said some angry things about coaching, management, and ownership in an interview. And while I love my TEAM, I can't say I disagree with his points about the guys in charge.
