Thrashers vs Bruins...The Boston Massacre

Thrashers hockey was hot this week, well it was hot before Tuesday. If the Thrashers beat Boston, they could take over the 8th seed (for the moment). Fans were excited. Hockey sites and publications were giving us credit. People who never talked hockey were asking about the Thrashers. Hell, Canada shut up for 10 minutes about us moving to Winnipeg.


This was a big game, one of the biggest in several years. What happened? Well the Thrashers shit the bed of course.

I spent the last several minutes of warm ups trying to get this cute Boston kid a puck. A few others around him had gotten pucks. Most of the guys were going in. I banged on the glass and pointed, no luck. Tim was leaving the ice and I banged on the glass and pointed at the kid. He flopped down in front of the kid stretched a final time and got up. Before leaving he tapped the glass at the kid. No puck, but at least Timmy said hi!

David Krejci put the Bruins on the board first, not a great surprise with the Thrashers being outshot 10 to 7. Not horribly outshot, but we could do better. We go into the second period down 1-0.

What's with all the love and class on the kiss cam lately? Rangers, Buffalo, Philly and now Boston have played nice. I'm embarrassed to admit I'm a bit disappointed.

The second period was even worse than the first! Thanks to Satan and Lucic the Bruins scored two more goals sending the Thrashers into the third period down 3-0. Come on guys, we've got 20 minutes, we can do this.!

Along with your will to live, games like this sap your desire to take pictures. That's all I have for the third period. A worthless game with a huge potential that was wasted. It IS still mathematically possible for the Thrashers to make the playoffs, just not probably. Yay math!
