Welcome Artyukhin, Farewell Oysters
The Thrashers did a little "wheeling and dealing" before the trade deadline. They acquired forward Evgeny Artyukhin from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Nathan Oystrick and a conditional pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Thrashers fans will be familiar with Arty as he was previously with Tampa Bay and we saw a lot of him.
You might remember the fight where he annihilated Chris Thorburn in the final game of the season last year.
Arty puts some serious size on our team. At 6'5'' and 255lbs, his physical style is a force to be reckoned with. Though his scoring numbers are typically low, he is a large, aggressive forward who is great along the boards. He's fast has a decent forecheck. He's only appeared in 37 games for the Ducks this season and has 9 points.
Farewell Nathan! Nathan was one of my favorites last season and I was disappointed when he didn't make the team this season. As the Ducks have no AHL affiliate, he will for the time being remain in Chicago. Good look Oysters!

Ok I know this is random, but I'm excited we have someone who is 6'5" now we can line some of the players up in height order and have a neat stair step thing from 5'10" to 6'7"
That might just be the best picture ever
if we dont remember him, thorburn does.
I think Thor still has a dent in his skull from Arty.
Thanks Brittany!!!
R2 is a big, bad body. Welcome. We need the size. What are you thinking about Kozlov remaining a Thrasher?
