Buffalo Sabres vs Atlanta Thrashers
This is the first time that the Buffalo Sabres have been through Blueland since the Olympics and I wanted to make some signs for Ryan Miller. The problem? It fell on the St. Patty's day game when the guys wear their special green jerseys. After much soul searching and a poll on here, I decided to go say thanks to Ryan. Cuz I love Amer-uh-ka! Woo!
This video is NOT safe for work. Do NOT listen to this if you have kids around or are offended by hearing the Fbomb about 382 times.
My first sign for Ryan.
This was my favorite sign. Someone else had a sign as well.
So welcome to the Ryan Miller show, seriously. I don't give 2 shits about anyone else on Buffalo.
Nice shot of the top of his mask.
The left side.
Most of the time Ryan cruised around "in the zone." He acted like looking at my signs would burn out his retinas or steal his soul. Then he had a skate issue and had to get if fixed. I thought "This is perfect!" He'll surely look now.
Or not.
HA! BUSTED!
I see you seeing me, Miller. Just let me say thank you!
Kennedy looked so young he could have been the peewee player for the night.
A little Derrick Roy for Marisa.
I was excited about seeing Lalime's Marvin the Martian mask. I'd be seeing a lot more of it later.
Cruising into the crease.
Torres: Ugh, he's doing the thing with the puck again.
Mair: Yeah, he things he's hot shit.
Connolly: Hey guys check this out.
Torres: *sigh*
Mair: *eye roll*
Taking some shots in the crease. You should have taken a few more.
i r seer-ee-uhs goalie
Mair putting a shot on Miller.
Really Ryan, would it kill you to smile? You must be the life of the party.
Dear God: Please let people shut up about the Olympics. Please let this chick stop taking pictures of me. Thank you. Amen.
Raffi Torres stretching.
Mair. I have a lot of Mair for some reason.
Okay Ryan, let's play a game. Show me the face you would make after letting in 3 goals in like 10 minutes and getting pulled.
Swarming the goalie.
A little bit of Ryan unmasked. Thanks for the Olympics Ryan, hope you eat a bag of shit tonight though!
Well I wasn't able to be down on the Thrashers end for the warm ups in green, but I had a Getting Pucks Deep guest photographer looking out for me, my friend Randy! Randy knows what I like...300 goalie pics, Oduya, etc lol
Bergie in his greens. They worked for ya Mr. #1 Star of the Game!
Arty and Nik getting warmed up. You can see My Friend Natalie (yes that's her official name) in the back in her green sweater. I had no green on...I suck.
Don't worry Johnny! I'll be back, I just had some patriotic duty to do.
See, Moose understands. He misses me, but he doesn't hate America so he knows why I'm down there.
Jimmeh! You can see my signs behind him.
Max was itching to score on his old team. We were itching to watch him do so.
Chelios' jersey went for some of the highest bids. Final cost was $1200. What a cool piece of unexpected memorabilia from a future Hall of Famer.
Pops! If I had a job, I would have bid on his jersey. I figure I could get it pretty cheap.
Oh do I!
Did I mention Randy knows what I like??
There were SO many Buffalo fans there, as usual. Most seemed friendly this time. Maybe they were drunk. Leprechauns and the cup.
That's probably this guy's story.
Sabres fans have fun head gear.
First period!
Action in front of Miller, lots of action. Don't blink...you won't even know Miller was in net!
The guys swarm the net and keep banging at the puck, eventually knocking it in!
Moose protecting the crease.
Hainsey looking very intense while protecting his zone.
After allowing 3 goals in less than 5 minutes, Olympic hero, Ryan Miller, is chased from the net. You should have looked at my signs more.
Welcome to the game, Patrick Lalime!
One of the Sabres gave Moose a little snow shower. Johnny Oduya didn't like that much and decided to voice his displeasure.
Lalime makes a sprawling save.
Ugh! That's something you hate seeing at a game. Whitey had to be helped off of the ice, but fortunately The Todd came back to play later!
Down in front!
Thanks to Miller uncharacteristically leaking like a sieve, the Thrashers go into the second period up 3 to 1!
Second Period!
Careful! Mac is under there somewhere.
Max trying to get one into the net.
Greer was injured, too. Careful boys!
Extreme chaos in front of Moose's net.
Damn, maybe they have been reading my blog, no birds or other obscene gestures! Well done, Sabres! Hey, it's our friend with the fun head gear!
Lalime making a save.
I just like this picture because you can see Marvin the Martian.
The Sabres scored in the second period and are getting WAY too close for comfort as we go into the 3rd period up 3-2.
Third Period!
Lalime making another sprawling save. He's gonna be tired tonight.
Hainsey coming out of the sin bin, that's a good sign, it means they didn't score on the PP.
But, they did score to tie the game. Vomit. Can't we have SOME happiness in Blueland?? Note the asses celebrating behind the net. You might remember that guy and the stuffed Buffalo from last season:

Wooo Hooo! Go Slater! Jimmy with the go-ahead goal! Hey Buffalo fan (above) take your doll and go sit the F*ck down!
Good to see Greer was able to return to the game.
More action in front of Moose.
Fortunatly for the Thrashers the slugs pulled a penalty in the last minutes of the game, so we were able to keep the lead. Thrashers win 4-3, woo hoo! There is nothing better than sending Buffalo fans home crying! There were SOOO many of them there. When Buffalo scored once, I thought we had because it was so loud. I actually jumped up, then sat back down like the moron I was.
Clarke MacArthur was the post game show guest, but I couldn't stay. I parked in the cheap parking and had to leave quickly as they lock it up pretty quick.
