Some pictures from the Hurricanes game
I've been so uninspired to do this post. I wasted 3 hours of my life at this game, why waste more time blogging about it. I took a few pictures though, so I'll just share them.
Hands down, the best thing about the night was my awesome sign I made for Armstrong. The word "Army" was even made with camouflage paper! Army is a notorious non-looker at signs for him. Kerry brought him a sign and he didn't look at it.
We had some Carolina fans that made the trip. Nothing like going on the road to support your team and seeing them win...or so I hear. I've yet to see the Thrashers win on the road. If I have to drive 6 hours to be laughed out of the building, damn it so should they!
Pavs knows a good sign when he sees it.
Slater clearing the pucks out of the net.
For some reason I have more pictures of Army with his eyes closed than any other player. Maybe he's purposely trying not to look at the sign.
An awesome picture of Pavs that I love.
Everyone just line up and shoot at Pavs at the same time. That's what it's going to feel like tonight for him.
Come on Army, really.
A clean shaven Ron Hainsey. He looks 12 when he shaves.
HA! Busted! I see you seeing me and my sign for you.
Poor Moose. Moose likes to chat with the goalies from the other team if he knows them. Since they were in training camp together I thought that Manny might come over and chat with the Moose. Manny left him hanging though.
Fine, Moose is taking his toys and leaving.
Not even Bergy could get anything going on his birthday.
Swarming the Moose.
Not the usual game blog post. I'm not hashing out the horrible details. You can check out the recap on the official site or just punch yourself in the stomach.
We had a good crowd there for the game. I was packed in my seat like a sardine in the first period.
Second period I moved over to sit with some friends.
The Thrashers made Manny look like he should win a Vezina.
Another good part of the game, since it was a kids' day, they had Baby Thrash. He has Chris Thorburn/Clarke MacArthur hair.
Some action in front of Pavs.
Well done Carolina fans.
The angry fan behind Max looks like she has some ideas for the game.
Manny tracking the puck.
Typical Coach Anderson.
Thrash hopped the rail to see the Carolina fans and racked himself. Thrash, we all feel that way right now.

Great pics! I'm actually a Canes fan (don't shoot!). Reading your comments RE: travelling to an away game to watch your team lose & also seeing several Canes fans were in Atlanta Sunday, I thought you might enjoy hearing about a neat experience I had in the 2007-08 season (pretty sure that was the year!). I was at a Thrashers vs Hurricanes game where the Thrashers booster club had travelled to the RBC Center. They were enthusiastic & loud but not obnoxious. What stood out & made me remember it so well was how the entire group (a large one; I'd say about 100 ppl) stayed to stand & applaud each of the 3 stars - even though Atlanta lost & all the stars were Canes. I was EXTREMELY impressed by that display of class & good sportsmanship by the Atlanta fans!!! My family has been STHs since the Hurricanes moved here & I don't ever remember another instance where fans of the other team did something so cool. Though I never 'hated' the Thrashers, that was a turning point in my feelings toward Atlanta. I hope Canes fans travel equally well & were behaving themselves at Phillips on Sunday! =)
For the record - and I speak for 99.9 if not 100% of Canes fans - I would SO much rather Atlanta make the playoffs than Florida. So your boys gotta get it together & start acting like they want it!! Go Thrashers! =)
Thanks for the comment, Elizabeth! Funny enough the Canes are the team I hate most, but I hate hating them because of their fans lol. Most of the Canes fans I know are awesome. We made a huge road trip to watch the Thrashers play the Canes last season...got shut out. OUCH!
I hate the Canes because they ruined my playoffs last season. Whether in a small group (with the Thrashers fans) or alone (I came for the Game 6 between you and the Devils) I've had nothing but good experience with Cain fans. I love a good rivalry. When fans aren't ugly, it's a good time. Nashville is another good fan base.
As much as it would pain me, if Carolina was in the finals, depending on who they were facing, I'd probably pull for them. Gotta stick up for Sun Belt hockey!
