Second Atlanta Thrashers Prospect Game vs Predators
Today was the second prospect game between the Nashville Predators and the Atlanta Thrashers. We really put a hurting on the baby Preds in the first game (6-3) and we were hoping for a sweep.
I was surprised that the place was so packed. The first game sold out, but not the second game. I figured a game in the middle of the day wouldn't be so busy, but I was wrong.
Swarming the goalie in warm ups.
We started training camp invite Josh Unice. He plays for the Windsor Spitfires who won the Memorial Cup last season, so I was excited to see him play. He has the most awesome little pre-warm up ritual I've ever seen. I've seen goalies bang their stick from side to side, but Josh wails his stick like 5 or 6 times each side, then does a little hop, drinks some water and tilts his head back. Then he spits the water out like he's Triple H from the WWE. My love was instant for him.
Action in front of our net. There was FAR too much action in front of our net in this game.
Unice tracking the puck.
It's behind you, Josh!
Now it's in front, much too close to the front.
Second period and Chet Pickard is in net for the baby Preds.
Smith getting the puck out of there. (damn)
Face off
The Preds were doing so well by mid game I guess they decided to give Jeremy Smith a turn.
The Thrashers did have some good shots and it rang off the post once or twice.
Action in front of Smith
In the second period, Riley Holzapfel got busted in the face when a puck went under his visor. Scary!
Always a scary moment. Fortunately Riley was able to join the action in the next period. Way to go, Riley!

Third period!
Get it out of there boys!
Come on guys, just one goal!
Well, that baby Thrashers got blanked, 3-0. So both baby Preds and baby Thrash won a game.
Now for my Levko (my husband calls him Loveko since I take so many pics of him) lovers, probably my last Levko candy of the season as he is heading back to Spokane Chiefs, take good care of him!

Happy times!
Serious times! Levko has his game face on.
Warming up.
Levko and local favorite, Jimmy Bubnick. When Jimmy finally makes the team he is going to have a cult following. People love his name.
Bye-bye babies! See ya next season, have a great year :)

There will be signs and shirts... your husband is a genius.
Thank you so much for keeping track of him. We'll take care of Lev up here. LOL We'll have to see if we can get a picture to him to sign.
So glad it's hockey season.
I don't want him to leave...
