Thrashers Training Camp: Day 7
I skipped camp yesterday. I figured I could miss a day of camp since I drove 4 hours to Nashville to give the arena free frosties with our loss.
There was a good crowd today, partly because it was Saturday, but also because word had spread we had a new guy in town. The Thrashers had decided to extend an invitation to Maxim Afinogenov and he is trying out.
Max goes behind the net.
Max and the boys hanging out waiting for instructions.
Max getting up in Moose's business.
Go Max, go! Max was pretty fast.
Moose waiting for action.
Ilya is all smiles as he, Antropov and Little wait for the puck.
Puck acquired and fired at Manny.
Colby and Pevs creating some chaos for Moose.
Time for some mountains. Moose likes to show off that he can go backwards, too.
Not exactly sure what Manny was doing, maybe giving them a free shot? Manny is a laugh a minute.
Whitey, Afinogenov and Kovy shooting at Manny.
OH MY GOD! They killed Manny! You bastards!
Ron Hainsey and Toby Enstrom chatting. A funny thing happened today after Hainsey's team left the ice. After he had showered he came out and was down by the goal where I stand yelling through the glass at Slater "Where are your keys??" Guess he wanted to take the Slatermobile for a ride.
Slava scores on Manny. Imagine that. Slava is Manny Kryptonite.
Pavel Kubina.
Rich Peverley waiting for the puck for a drill.
Ilya was very emotive today.
It's hard thirsty work being Sponge Bob Moose Pants.
I hear Army's wife likes iced sweet tea.
Team B time!
Boris stretching.
Popovic
Joey Crabb and friends in front of MacIntyre.
Tim Stapleton
The Greek God Line! Eric Boulton, Jim Slater and Chris Thorburn. Boultsie looked up at the restaurant over the rink and there was a little kid waiving at him. He waved back, so cute. It think it might have been his son.
Peter Mannino taking in the action. Mannino was one of the 10 people cut from the roster today. Mannino will be reporting to Chicago.
Mannino knows how I love a poke check!
Slater and Bobo were like 2 little kids today, laughing and shoving. I wonder what they were up to? I actually heard one of the coaches call Boris "Bobo" today, too.
Zach waiting for the puck.
