In The Nest: Ed Pasquale and Cody Sol
The Thrashers have 2 eggs in the nest of the Saginaw Spirit, defenseman Cody Sol and goalie Edward Pasquale.
Atlanta chose Cody Sol in the 5th round, 125th overall. I liked watching Cody in prospect camp this season because he's huge (6'5'') and easy to find on the ice. Cody has played 25 games with the Spirit and scored 8 points (4 goals 4 assists) and is a +11. He's tallied 80 penalty minutes. On October 23, Cody had an exceptional game when his team faced the Kingston Frontenacs. Cody scored two goals and an assist.
Edward Pasquale was selected in the 4th round, 117th overall. Edward has played 17 games with the Spirit and has a 11-4-0 record along with a 3.00 GAA and .907 SV%. Edward had a fantastic game on November 6 when the Spirit played the Oshawa Generals. The final score of the night was 5-1 Spirit. Ed made 40 saves and was 37 seconds away from a shut out when a General finally scored on him. Edward was named as the second star of the game.
