Surprise! It's the Edmonton Oilers
I got to Thrashers practice a few times a week. I decided not to go this Saturday because it's usually crowded and sometimes difficult to deal with. My buddy Randy said he was going, so I decided to drag myself on out to Duluth. I'm glad I did because after Thrashers practiced, the Edmonton Oilers practiced! They have been in town since yesterday waiting for our game Sunday.
So I'm waiting around for the Oilers and holy shit, look what struts in. It's a shitty picture, I don't care.
Randy got a better picture. The Bulin Wall, baby! Look at that strut!!!
I said "Hi, Khabi"
He did the twitchy goal tender head bob thing. He could have said something, but I"m not sure. I was swooning too hard.
I was also waiting for the gorgeous Sheldon Souray. When he came through, I said "Hi Sheldon."
He looked at me, smiled and said "Hello." It was magic. MAGIC! If you see me, be sure and ask about my Sheldon and Bulin encounters. I'll be glad to recreate the situation with sock puppets. I've only replayed them in my mind a bazillion times today.
Bulin says this place sucks, I have to do all the work.
Pushing his net into place.
Gotta get it just right.
Shawn Horcoff chatting it up with ex-Oiler and current Thrasher, Marty Reasoner. All the guys gave Marty a big hug when they went by.
*swoon* Tell Marty I said hi! (He and Marty Brodeur own a pizza joint in Montreal)
Sorry to disappoint Oilers fans, but I can't name everyone in the pictures. While I know the goalies, Horcoff, Comrie, and Staios by looking at them, without the benefit of big numbers, I can't tell who is who sometimes. I know the names, but can't put them with the faces. Of course who doesn't know this fine specimen of a Movember participant, Zach Stortini??
Bulin taking a shot.
Team pow-wow. Holy crap Pat Quinn is big. I wasn't expecting that.
Ladislav Smid patting Hillary Duff's boyfriend (Mike Comrie) on the head. Maybe he's saying "Don't worry little buddy, I don't have H1N1 anymore).
They rolled The Wall!
Taking some action to Khabibulin.
Ya missed that one, Bulin.
You got that one!
The Bulin Wall!
Pat Quin signing the celebrity wall at the snack bar. Crappy picture, I was playing with the settings.
He's giant! He was soo nice. A fan came up and told him he was from Winnipeg and Pat Quin stopped to talk with him. The guy told him his grandson was playing in there (the other rink) Pat asked which one, asked him how long he'd been here. Nice guy.
The Wall exciting the ice.
I wanted to get my picture with either Khabi or Sheldon but all my friends left earlier. Oh well! I didn't get nearly enough good pictures of Sheldon Souray. I plan on fixing that Sunday afternoon!
On a very sad note, Fernando Pisani, yep the guy in the ulcerous colitis commercials, had to leave the team indefinitely due to his colitis. He's going home to speak with his doctors. Good luck, Ferny, I hope you feel better soon!

Glad to see it's not just us rank amateurs who have to drag our own nets around. Did he peg it himself or not bother with that?
Oh yes, pegged and everything. Khabibulin does it all!
Sunshine - so nice seeing you again at "the Mac"! And we sooooo appreciate you taking our picture with your dreamboat of a camera. Can't get over how young and child-like the Moose appears in person. I think I could take him in a fight if there were tasty Swedish meatballs at stake.
Sorry for the silliness but we've been drinkin' a piece and now we're into the wine here at home. Can't wait to see Kristen and I in the photo op with Moooooooooose!
Let us know if you want any of our crappy shots that you might see on either my blog (thrashingbirds.blogspot.com) or Kristen's (krisabelle.blogspot.com).
Cheers!
Jason
Hell yeah! early game means you can drink more, lol. I sent the picture over a few hours ago. Let me know if you didn't get it. Maybe I got the email wrong. I will check your blogs out. I love looking at blogs!
Hey Sunshine! I thought you of you the other night while watching on the net the Thrashers play the Kings. I was so excited for Pavelec getting his first shutout, especially since I picked him up for my fantasy hockey league! Talk about a major hottie too! Love your photos! Great to know that Pat Quinn is a good guy. What a hockey legend!
Sasha, it was fantabulous! Thanks for the compliments :) Pavs is a total hottie. Seems pretty nice, too. While I was watching the Oil practice, he was out there with 2 guys chatting his ass off in Czech.
Jason, my email is Sunshine36616@yahoo.com. Let me know if you guys didn't get the pic :)
The Edmonton broadcasters actually had some nice things to say about the city of Atlanta yesterday. Apparently they enjoyed spending a couple of days here, and Pat Quinn talked about how much he like playing in Atlanta for the Flames.
Oh, and Sheldon Souray = gorgeous hunk of man.
Juney, that's good to hear! The players were really nice. They all smiled, said hi and stopped for pictures and autographs. Glad they enjoyed the city! I'm sure they loved the weather. It was a beautiful weekend.
