In The Nest: Jordan Samuels-Thomas
Jordan was the Thrashers' 7th round draft pick (203rd overall). Jordan is currently attending college and playing for the Falcons of Bowling Green State University. Though they won their season opening exhibition game against Wilfrid-Laurier University, the Falcons aren't doing so well this season. Incidentally Jordan DID score a goal and an assist that game. Unfortunately that's the last game they have won in regulation. The Falcons currently have a 0-5-1 record.
Jordan has played in all 6 games for the Falcons. He has scored 3 goals and 2 assists for a total of five points. His first collegiate goal came on a power play in a game against the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Senior Tomas Petruska sent a pass in around the boards that Jordan would scoop up and take hard to the near side corner of the net. Jordan won the sprint to the corner and wrapped the puck around the post and into the net. The score would break a steak of 15 power play chances without a goal for the Falcons.
Good luck this season, Jordan!
