Thrashers vs Blues...finally a win at home!

Is there any better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than in Blueland? I personally think not. This Sundays the St. Louis Blues came to town to challenge the Thrashers. Neither team has been doing great and both have been falling into a trap of slow starts in games.


I was in enemy territory again. I probably wouldn't have been but I promised my buddy over at http://wazzupwitchu.blogspot.com/ that I would take some pictures of her and her fellow Blues lovers from http://www.stlouisgametime.com/. I'm glad I was there though. I was excited to see Ty Conklin, plus I have some new loves now.

This guy was teaching his kids how to make the sign for a puck, unfortunately he was not doing it right and basically taught the kids an obscene gesture. Mason probably gave him a puck so he'd stop.

Mason took a few shots and skated on over out of the way. He had the night off. Conks had this shit handled.





I don't think I had ANY idea how stinking adorable TJ Oshie is. I mean he is like anime cute. He is working hard to scoop up a puck and give it to the little kid next to me. TJ looks about the same age as the grade schooler he gave the puck to.

Conks is a feisty little (well not so little) goalie. Also I noticed he never drank from that bottle, only sprayed his face. He drank from the bottle on the bench.

Second Period!

The score remained 0-0 into the 2nd period. That's what happens when you have two teams that have been having slow crappy starts. About 7 minutes into the 2nd period David Perron had a breakaway but was tripped up by Hainsey and slid into a poke-checking Moose busting his mask off. The puck came back out and Andy McDonald put it in the open net.


Friend of the blog and bad-assed photographer extraordinaire Mr. Fred caught this shot. Terrifying! It always scares me to see goalies' masks flying off, especially when it's my Moose. Not in the face!!





The ref giving Moose his mask back. I believe the Sponge Bob Moose Pants mask was damaged. I came home and was watching the replay of OT and the shoot out and noticed Moose was wearing an older mask.

After that flukey Hainsey goal, Conks was PISSED! He did a little bunny hop like a mad kid. He realized that his water bottle was empty and slid it across the ice. Then he started flapping his blocker at the bench telling them he needed water. Then he started banging his stick. Get the man some water!!





Aside from throwing fits, being a kick ass goalie and needing water, Conks loved the ice girls. I saw him check a few of them out.





Thrashers tie the game and it's 2-2. We go through OT and into a shoot out. WOO HOO!

I got pics of both shoot out goals, but they are crappy and blurry. You only get one shot at those!

Thrashers win at home! HELL YES! So that means we get a post game show guest! I haven't been to the post game show yet this season. So I was excited. I needed my Darren Elliot fix.




Our guest for the night...Mr. Marty Reasoner! Marty was the first star of the night and had assists on both goals, was a +2 and helped kill 3 out of 4 penalties.
